Our Weekend Away
This was one of my favorite weekends to date! We headed up to the Wisconsin Dells and stayed at Kalahari Resorts! This place is rated in the top 25 hotels by Trip Advisor for 2016. I loved staying at the Kalahari when I was younger and I love sharing the tradition now with my family 🙂 I am really learning to cherish all our moments together as just a family of three because in a matter of months we will have a newborn joining us! Giving Harlo her special time with us is very important and I am so happy we were able to make lots of wonderful memories at Kalahari Resorts.  This little weekend getaway we were able to spend quality time with my sister and brother in law which was so nice! It is crazy how close you can live to siblings and just never see them. My mom’s birthday is Tuesday so we celebrated her birthday over the weekend as well!
When we first arrived at the Kalahari Resorts we were greeted by Kenya the Elephant 🙂 Harlo helped us unpack and really wanted to help Uncle Steffen with the luggage 😉 We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony! Yes, the men were able to enjoy some moscow mules out there while us preggos just enjoyed the view 😉
We went to the indoor waterpark first so Harlo could test out the waters! Kiddos in a life vest can’t get any cuter 😉 We loved the outdoor waterpark more because we could get our tan on while the men took Harlo down lots of slides. We all went on the lazy river and ms Harlo fell asleep for some much needed zzz’s 🙂 <3 <3 We took some obligatory photos with the HUGE elephants and a gorilla.  Harlo has become a little obsessed with elephants 😉 I think her obsession grew after this weekend 🙂
Harlo was able to pet a baby tiger cub. This was mine and Nick’s first time petting a tiger as well. The tiger was a baby girl named Anu and she was just as rambunctious and spirited as my little Harlo so they got a long well and Harlo gave us the biggest cheesin’ smile I think ever!Every time we visit the Wisconsin Dells we always hit up Paul Bunyans Cook Shanty <3 It has a southern rustic charm to it along with a huge buffet style breakfast! I pretty much roll out of there 😉
We celebrated my mom’s 50th birthday.. say whaat? I am still so shocked my mom is 50 just seems surreal:) We all went to dinner and ate a delicious cookie cake <3 Happy Birthday Mom- I love you so much <3 I am beyond blessed for my incredible family and the super fun and relaxing weekend getaway! I am going to be real with y’all as relaxing as a trip can be with a toddler 😉 of course we had lots of meltdowns and timeouts but I am choosing to only remember the REAL GOOD MOMENTS <3
If you visit or live in Wisconsin you have to check out the Dells 🙂
